The city zoo of Sydney, Taronga officially opened on 7 th October 1916. It is located on the shores of Sydney Harbour in Mosman. Taronga Zoo is home to over 2,600 animals on 28.7 hectares, making it one of the largest of its kind, and it divided into eight zoogeographic regions with numerous indoor pavilions and outdoor exhibits. Taronga Zoo has about 340 different species of animal, housed in a large variety of exhibits. You can enjoy close-up encounters with exotic wildlife plus superb views of the Sydney skylinen at Taronga Zoo.
Highlights of the Zoo include the Lemur Adventure Park, Koala Encounter, and Seal Show. From the city,buses to the zoo depart from Wynyard or visitors can hop aboard a ferry at the Circular Quay. The zoo'slively events calendar includes "Roar and Snore" overnight zoo stays and a summer concert series.
